Once an actual chicken coop, now a small art studio and writing space for farmer and homeschooling mom, Amy Richardson. Located at Forgotten Foods Farm.
Amy received her Bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University (‘07) and her MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University (‘09). She was born and raised in Morehead, KY and now lives and works on her family farm in Carter County.
Amy is a writer and visual artist deeply concerned with environmental issues and the destruction of nature for capitalist gain. She writes poetry, CNF, fiction, and essays centered on the important work she and her family do on their small sustainable farm, and the often unrecognized work of women throughout Appalachia spanning the generations.
She also creates visual art focused on nature and agroforestry and the impact even small decisions about how we choose to live can have on our world.
